From Behind Bars - Goals and Mission Statement

From Behind Bars is a non-profit organization created to help those who are put into tough situations because of incarceration. We know that many of those in prison wish to start a new life fresh with goals and dreams beyond a small, cramped cell. In order to help, we have gathered support from successful ex-convicts who wish to help those who need a boost.

Drawing form the financial resources selflessly gifted to us, we have developed several programs in order to help all sorts of situations including:

- Finance counseling for single parents
- Trade education (machining/mechanic/electric/plumbing/carpentry)
- Food banks for those in poverty
- Safe houses for those living in dangerous places

Our mission/goal is to help you start over from a place with leverage. Starting a new life in a difficult place with no help feels hopeless, so let us help you!

Counterdiscourse of Prisoners

While there isn't much you can do to voice your concerns while in prison, there are still some ways which include: - Literature - Music - Film We have created programs for each of these methods of counterdiscourse. We want your voice to be heard! You can sign up for any of these online to get help from established authors, musical artists, and directors. They will help your get your voice out there, and your idea off the ground. These wonderful volunteers are here for you!
